Our social workers are currently dealing with an increasing workload, as new cases of abuse and neglect are reported every month. It would be fantastic to have the crisis center up and running again to provide a safe haven for children who are in immediate danger, abandoned, or in need of care. However, to make this happen, we need funding for full-time staff.
On a positive note, we’re fortunate to have new places of safety and foster homes that are stepping up to help us out. In the meantime, we're looking into repurposing our facilities for therapy, child-centered learning, and family-oriented activities. This way, we can continue to support our community while we work towards getting the crisis center back in action.
